APB Index
How to Read the APB Index
The APB Index does not provide answers.
It serves as a starting point to determine what to check first.
Order of Review
- First, check whether any score is below 3 or unperformed.
- Next, identify differences among the components.
- Finally, read the overall distribution as a physical profile.
Identify Differences
Differences among components appear as imbalances in the physical profile.
Focus on the relatively lower components.
The size of the gap indicates which components should be reviewed first.
Typical Patterns
-
A score below 3 is present
When any component is below 3, begin review with that component.
Do not judge the overall profile based on higher scores in other areas. -
An unperformed component is included
When an unperformed component is included, treat the Index as partial information.
Do not interpret the missing components. -
Large differences are present
When the gap between components is large, interpret it as an imbalance in the profile.
Focus on the relatively lower components. -
The profile is uneven
When variation exists across the profile, check the overall consistency.
Read it as a distribution rather than as isolated values. -
Only some components are high
When only some components are high, interpret this as localized strength.
Do not evaluate it in isolation; review it in relation to other components.
Do Not Rush to a Conclusion
Do not judge based only on the magnitude of scores.
Do not judge the whole profile from a single component.
Do not draw conclusions from the APB Index alone.
Check current physical profile.
